Everything You Need to Join Us in Tuscany

We’ve gathered all the details to help you plan your journey to our wedding in beautiful Tuscany. From flights to local tips, we want to make your trip as seamless as possible.

The villa is on top of a mountain. We highly recommend you rent a car from Rome (3-hour drive). However, you can also take the high-speed train from Rome to Florence and rent a car at the train station (1-hour drive). You may also take the train directly to Lucca and taxi to your accommodation. However, we highly recommend renting a car. It will be cheaper and more convenient.

  1. Florence Airport (FLR)1 hour 15 minutes by car
  2. Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)3 hours by car or 1.5 hours by high-speed train

How to Get There:

1. Flying into Italy:

  • We recommend flying into Florence (FLR) or Rome (FCO).
  • If you’re flying from Canada, you can use our Air Canada Discount Code: RHAV9FC1 (valid from July 13th to August 3rd, 2025).

2. From the Airport to the Villa:

Option 1: Car Rental (Highly Recommended) 🚗

  • Renting a car is the most convenient way to explore Tuscany and reach the venue.
  • All major rental services are available at Florence and Rome airports.

Option 2: Train 🚆

  • Take a high-speed train from Rome to Florence (1.5 hours).
  • From Florence, you can catch a regional train to Lucca (30 minutes) or hire a taxi to the villa.

Option 3: Taxi/Transfer Service 🚖

  • Private car services can be pre-booked to take you directly to the villa.

Where to Stay:

Tenuta San Pietro: A boutique hotel just an 8-minute walk from the venue.

Hotels in Lucca:

    • Various hotels available 15-20 minutes away by car.
    • We recommend staying in the historic center for a charming Tuscan experience.

Helpful Tips:

  • Car Rentals: Driving in Tuscany is beautiful and stress-free! Make sure to use Google Maps for navigation.
  • Currency: Euros (€) are used in Italy. Credit cards are widely accepted.
  • Weather: July in Tuscany is warm and sunny – pack light clothing, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes for walking.
  • Language: Italian is the local language, but most people in tourist areas speak basic English.
